  WHAT IS COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY?
Colon Hydrotherapy using the Gravitational Method is an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of poisons, gas and accumulated faecal matter. Unlike an enema, it does not involve the retention of water. There is no discomfort, internal pressure, just a steady gentle flow in and out and accompanied with abdominal massage to stimulate the colon to recover its natural shape, tone and peristaltic wave action.
`
HOW IS A COLONIC ADMINISTERED?
Filtered water at a carefully regulated temperature is introduced under gentle gravitational pressure through the rectum into the colon. With special massage techniques, the water begins to soften and cleanse the colon of faecal matter and old deposits which are then piped away with the waste water. The whole process takes about an hour. The modesty of the patient is preserved to the utmost throughout the procedure.

HOW MANY COLONICS DO I NEED?
This really depends, from individual to individual, on the state of bowel encrustation and toxicity. Often the waste is so hard and well lodged in the colon that it may take a series of colonics to sufficiently soften and loosen it. Some people may not have startling results for the first few treatments. This is why a series of treatments is necessary and advisable. Colonic irrigation is most effective when employed with exercise and a proper diet of non-mucus producing foods, fresh fruits, vegetables and plenty of filtered water.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY?
By cleansing the colon of impacted and putrefactive faecal matter, colonic treatments offer relief from a variety of disturbances. Fatique, gas, headaches, irritability, skin problems, cold hands and feet, and lethargy are among the problems people have found relieved by colon cleansing. Constipation, of course, is another, as well as chronic diarrhea, your sense of well being is often dramatically improved. It is also of benefit prior to and following barium enemas and during a detox and most people experience improved health and vitality. See the list of issues for which colon cleansing is beneficial.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
Colonic Irrigation exercises the colon muscles, improves peristaltic activity by which the colon naturally moves material. Reshapes the colon as an over toxic load can alter the shape of the colon. Colonic Irrigation helps to eliminate bulging pockets of waste and narrowed spastic constrictions.

Some of the results you can expect are; improved health and vitality, improved bowel function, mental clarity, less bloated, clearer skin, brighter eyes a sense of well being.
Immune and weight problems often improve, more energy amongst many other effects.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFORE MY COLONIC
It is best to eat fresh light foods two hours proceeding a colonic as your abdomen will be massaged.  If possible it is good to drink plenty of fresh filtered water two days prior to the colonic along with fresh foods.

WHEN DID COLONIC IRRIGATION START

Dating back to ancient times, enemas were recorded as early as 1500B.C. in an Egyptian medical document called the “Eber Papyrus”.  Many years ago a hollow reed was used to implement enema treatments on a river to induce water to flow into the rectum.  Hippocrates, Pare and Galen also advanced the use of enema therapy.

The present day colonic machine was developed around the turn of the 20th Century.  Up to the late 1920s many doctors had colonic machines in their offices and machines were found in hospitals as well. Up to the early 1930s articles dealing with colon health frequently appeared in prestigious medical journals.  After this time modern man began to use drugs and surgery. Recently there has been a great resurgence of the wellness industry and people are demanding natural approaches without the toxic side effects of modern day drugs.
